Cubs beat Cardinals 6-3 in game 2 of NLDS

ST. LOUIS (KTVI) – The Cardinals head to Chicago with their NLDS playoff series with the Cubs now tied at a game apiece. The Cubs winning Saturday’s Game 2 at Busch Stadium 6-3. Jaime Garcia had a throwing error as the Cardinals surrendered 5 unearned runs in the second inning. Garcia left the game after just 2 innings with the Cardinals reporting that Garcia was bothered by a stomach virus. Three Cardinal players hit home runs (Matt Carpenter, Kolten Wong, Randal Grichuk), but they were all solo shots.

Kyle Hendricks and Addison Russell had successful squeeze bunts and Jorge Soler capped a five-run second with a two-run homer, and the Chicago Cubs held off the St. Louis Cardinals 6-3 on Saturday night to even their NL Division series at a game apiece.

Manager Joe Maddon made all the right moves a night after the Cubs lost the opener 4-0. Now the series shifts to Wrigley Field for Game 3 Monday, where Chicago’s 22-game winner Jake Arrieta faces St. Louis’ Michael Wacha in the best-of-five series.

The Cubs didn’t hit the ball out of the infield in scoring their first three runs in the second.

Games 3 and 4 will be at Wrigley Field in Chicago on Monday/Tuesday.  Exact start times have not been announced.
