ST. LOUIS, MO (KTVI) – An independent report ordered by the EPA reassures the public that there is no off site risk for contamination.

The Missouri Attorney General is suing the landfills’ owner, Republic Services, to force a clean-up. He says radioactive waste has contaminated trees and water beyond the landfills` perimeters.

The company that owns the landfills says both are closely monitored and that there isn’t a threat to the community.
