ST. LOUIS, MO (KTVI) - The Missouri Highway Patrol tried to pull over a man in a vehicle in Franklin County Friday evening.  The driver pulled away from police and led them on a high speed chase that ended up in south St. Louis County.

The man in the vehicle drove eastbound on I-44 to I-270.  He then drove onto westbound Manchester road.  Police and helicopters followed the vehicle back onto I-270 via Barrett Station Road.  The driver then headed to I-55.

The chase ended at a 7-11 on Lemay Ferry road near Meramec Bottom road.  Police took the man into custody without incident.

The man's brother showed up at the 7-11.  He told store employees that he had been in contact with his brother.  He advised him to surrender somewhere that was well lit with security cameras.  He was concerned about police brutality.

Police could be seen searching the area near the end of the chase for evidence.  They were looking for something he may have thrown out of the car.
