ST. LOUIS (KTVI) - Some trunk or treaters had a real life scare Friday night as a carjacking suspect led police on a pursuit through their party in north St. Louis.

The Beginning Futures Learning Center is located near the intersection of Lillian and Thrush Avenues.

“It was mind blowing,” said eyewitness Marnette Williams. “It was something we’ve never experienced here at this day care center.”

Williams and others said the suspect drove over a curb and traveled through an open field where the center’s Halloween celebration was just getting underway. She says thankfully no one was injured.

“If somebody would have gotten hit, they would have died,” said Jamel Bea, a daycare worker.

The chase eventually took police from several jurisdictions into a quiet neighborhood in Northwoods. A police helicopter assisted in the search, but as of Friday night, the third suspect had not been taken into custody.
