Captain David Backes had no goals in the Blues first ten games of the season. Well on Halloween night, Backes scored twice to lead the Note to a 3-2 overtime win over the Minnesota Wild at Scottrade Center. Backes scored in the first period to give the Blues a 1-0 lead. Alexander Steen then scored to give St. Louis a 2-0 cushion. The Wild countered with a couple of goals to knot the score at 2-2. Backes then scored in overtime to give the Blues their eighth win of the season. Jake Allen got the win in goal, stopping 29 shots.
