What is #RoarBacon? St. Louis Blues fans have a new motto after an amazing comeback

ST. LOUIS, MO (KTVI) – Blues fans now have a new rallying cry, “#RoarBacon.” The unusual combination of awesome words was probably created by autocorrect during an emotional update on the team’s Instagram account. The update came during a comeback against a serious rival.

The Blues battled the Blackhawks to to win 6-5 on Wednesday night in Chicago. The Blackhawks built leads of 3-1 and 5-2, but the Blues would not quit. They tied the game with three goals in the second period.

Alexander Steen, Jay Bouwmeester and David Backes scored to make it a 5-5 game. The Blues got first period goals from Steen and Robby Fabbri. The game winner came in overtime from Blues leading scorer Vladimir Tarasenko.

That is when the team posted the #RoarBacon update.  They were probably trying to post: #RoarBack.




The rest is history. Fans started tweeting the unusual hashtag. The term started trending and the silly bacon bits started spreading. The team owned the mistake and now has a new viral motto, #RoarBacon.
