Child struck by gunshot shrapnel in South St. Louis

ST. LOUIS (KTVI)- The St. Louis Metropolitan Police Department is investigating the circumstances that brought an eight year-old child and adult to an area hospital Tuesday night after a shooting.

Authorities say the pair showed up at a hospital and claimed that they’d been shot at Compton and Market. The child was hit by shrapnel and an adult was shot in the right shoulder. Both have been reported as being in stable condition. Police have not been able to locate a scene.
