HAZELWOOD, MO (KTVI) - Heavy rains created a nasty, soaking night in metro St. Louis. Amy Vallotton was out in the miserable weather, “It’s horrible, feel like you need a boat, it’s horrible the highways are bad it’s hard to see the highways.”

Rain slick roads slowed the Tuesday evening rush hour to a crawl on Interstate 64 near Mason. Down the highway in Wentzville it appeared the rain was moving sideways like a curtain.  Matt Schuler was driving through the rough weather, “Barely could see out there, a lot of road puddles going on, cars spun out on the highway, took me a while to get home from work.”

It flowed off of roof tops like a waterfall. A trip for the grocery store was still part of the evening despite the miserable weather.  Teresa Schmierbach wishes it were even colder outside, “Actually I’d rather have snow than rain. Madden: Why? Because I like snow I don’t like all this rain at one time.

If it snowed instead of rain the snow would be piling up.
