ST. LOUIS (KTVI) – As the rain continues for fall in the St. Louis area, the Metropolitan Sewer District work crews are working around the clock to clear clogged sewer drains to minimize flooding throughout the area.  District officials are also calling on residents to help by clearing and keep drain openings clear of debris and leaves that have fallen.

Fallen leaves can block sewers and drastically reduce rains runoff and cause localized flooding of homes and neighborhoods.
