Record rainfall has Rolla students floating to class

ROLLA, MO (KTVI) - Several southern Missouri cities broke daily rainfall records on Tuesday. The National Weather Service reports that Springfield, Joplin, Rolla and West Plains all have new records.

The rain swelled area rivers and creeks. Students at the Missouri University of Science and Technology campus could be seen using kayaks and inflatable mattresses to float down flooded sidewalks.
