Phone scammers impersonating St. Louis County Police Chief

ST. LOUIS, MO (KTVI) – Police are warning people in St. Louis County about a phone scam where the caller is impersonating Chief of Police.

St. Louis County Police say the person is calling from a landline. A person identifying himself as “Sheriff Jon Belmar with the St. Louis County Sheriff’s Department” is asking for payment of fines for not showing up to jury duty.
