Reynolds County man found dead after being swept away by floods

LESTERVILLE, MO (KTVI) – Searchers located the body of a 49-year-old Reynolds County man Friday who was swept away by floodwaters along the Black River earlier in the week.

According to the Reynolds County Sheriff’s Office, John Gutches was heading to work and his truck ended up in the Black River near Highway J and 49. The truck was found, but Gutches was not inside.

Gutches’ body was located approximately a mile-and-a-half downriver.
