Burglary call leads to hazardous materials scare in St. Charles County

ST. CHARLES COUNTY, MO (KTVI)- A burglary call in St. Charles County lead to a hazardous materials scare. Eight residents in an apartment building were evacuated as a precaution.

Officers investigating the burglary on San Miguel Drive noticed an apartment with a suspicious liquid inside. The building was evacuated and the Bomb Squad and a Hazardous Materials Unit were called in.

Around 12:45a.m. the unknown liquids were safely removed and residents were allowed to return to their apartments. Investigators hope to finish testing the liquids by Monday.

No charges are expected at this time.
