The Fighting Irish overcame an eight point half time deficit to come back to beat Illinois 84-79 on Wednesday night in Champaign. It spoiled the grand re-opening of the State Farm Center (Assembly Hall). Malcolm Hill, the Belleville East High School graduate led the Illini with 19 points.
