WILDWOOD, MO (KTVI)- Law enforcement authorities and city leaders in Wildwood want to know who made off with a cabin dating back to the late 19th century.

The St. Louis County Police department suspects someone likely needed help to dismantle and then make off with most of the Essen Cabin, named after the family which built it sometime in the 1870s. The structure had been located near Highway 109 and Eatherton Road.

Wildwood’s Planning and Parks Director Joe Vujnich told West Magazine that it happened sometime between November 24-27, and that thieves only left the roof, rafters and flooring.

He told FOX2 the city was planning to move the cabin to a new location in January or February.
