The hype around the new Star Wars movie opening next weekend is enormous. The interview that Carrie Fisher gave with Good Morning America is a breath of fresh air. She brought her dog Gary along for the silly and provocative performance.

Fisher now plays General Leia in the upcoming Star Wars: The Force Awakens. Yes, she did talk about the movie. But her viral interview contained more nuggets that Star Wars teasers.

When asked if she needed convincing to sign on for the re-boot Fisher said, “I’m a female in Hollywood, over the age of let’s say 40 and then we could also say 50. They don’t have to ask you if you want to work at that age, you’ll see someday.”

GMA interviewer Amy Robach explained that she was over 40-years-old. She asked about Fisher’s weight loss for the role.

In a feisty reply she told Robach that she would normally not want to touch the topic, “But you’re so thin, let’s talk about it. How do you keep that going on?”  They discussed the futility of exercise.

The questions then turned to Gary. He is Fisher’s dog with the permanently stuck out tongue. Fisher explained that she brought him along because his tongue matches her sweater.
