Chesterfield’s administrator, first-ever employee, to retire

CHESTERFIELD, Mo. (AP) _ Chesterfield’s city administrator is retiring, marking the end of the career for the St. Louis County town’s first-ever employee.

Michael Herring was hired soon after Chesterfield incorporated in 1988. The St. Louis Post-Dispatch reports that Herring told the city council on Monday that his last day on the job will be March 31.

Herring was city administrator for Ballwin from 1982 to 1988, before coming to Chesterfield.
