Thousands of soldiers head home for Christmas through Lambert Airport

ST. LOUIS, MO (KTVI) – The well know song begins, “I’ll be home for Christmas.” That’s the case for fore than 5,000 military men and women from Fort Leonard Wood who began heading home for the holidays early Saturday morning. It's the annual U.S. Army block leave program, "Operation Exodus."

The USO at Lambert Airport always has a big party planned for the troops, including plenty of free food and entertainment as everyone headed home.
