ST. LOUIS (KTVI) - Dierberg's was busy early in the day on New Year's Eve; because not everybody goes out to celebrate the New Year. Some people prefer private parties. At Dierberg's, shoppers were loading up on seafood, because crab legs have apparently turned into a New Year's Eve staple.

Meanwhile, in the public party department, all five venues inside Ballpark Village celebrated New Year's Eve Thursday night. A capacity crowd of 4,000 was expected.

The "Diamond" package, which cost $140 at the door, included entry into a one carat diamond give-away and late-night food voucher, plus a designated driver ticket.
