DEFIANCE, MO. (KTVI)- The St. Charles County Parks and Recreation Department is hosting a winter trail hike on Jan. 9 at Broemmelsiek Park. The Saint Charles County website describes the event as a family-friendly, fun winter trails event, intended to introduce citizens of all ages to outdoor winter activities.

Broemmelsiek Park, located in Defiance, MO. has over 40 miles of marked trails to hike at leisure.

Nancy Lee Gomer and Bekin Youngblood of St. Charles County Parks stopped by the Fox 2 studio this morning to show Kim Hudson some tips on how to prepare for the hike. With a chance of 1-3 inches of snow this weekend, make sure to arrive prepared for any kind of weather.

Everyone who attends the hike tomorrow will have a chance to win one of five one-night stays in a camping cabin in a St. Charles County Park.
