NEW YORK– Magic Johnson can’t get enough of the L.A. sports scene.

He’s a partial owner of the Los Angeles Dodgers and he was the first person to put a deposit on 2016 season tickets for the Los Angeles Rams, according to a tweet from the Rams.

On Monday morning, the team offered fans the chance to reserve their spot in line for season tickets — with a $100 deposit.

Within five minutes of opening the reservations, the Rams had over 5,000 deposits.

Rams season tickets will become available sometime in the spring of 2016.

While the deposit doesn’t guarantee a season ticket — it’s first come, first serve — it does give these people priority over the general public. Plus, the $100 deposit is refundable and people can stay on the waiting list for the 2017 and 2018 seasons.

The benefit of becoming a season ticket holder at the L.A. Coliseum is receiving priority to purchase season tickets for the new Inglewood Stadium, which opens in 2019. Tickets won’t go on sale until 2017.

The team just got approval last week to return to Los Angeles — the Rams were the first pro team in L.A. and played in the city from 1946-1994.

Many view the team’s return as a homecoming, including Johnson who tweeted that he was “so excited” and “can’t wait to see OUR team next season!”

It’s unclear how many season tickets Johnson plans to buy, but the deposit allows holders to purchase up to eight season tickets.

Johnson also tweeted that he planned to call the owner of the Rams to inquire about getting a suite at Inglewood Stadium.
