BOWLING GREEN, MO (KTVI) – The ground started turning white early Tuesday afternoon in Pike County, Missouri. Not long after the flakes began to fall cars and trucks went slipping and sliding in Bowling Green.

This winter storm began with tiny flakes, but in minutes local parking lots turned white.  Just two weeks ago snow and ice made things treacherous here. Residents said just a few days ago they had a dusting of snow.

At Orscheln Farm and Home store they were busy selling shovels and ice melt. Taylor Arndt, a store manager said, “Our sales have really jumped today everybody’s preparing for the snow.” Folks insist they were prepared for another blast of old man winter. Jim Hubert said, “I don’t use salt I just use shovels and the blade on the tractor…I’m ready.”

Some folks dislike the winter weather others embrace it. Kathy Lay said, “Oh, I love snow, why, because it’s pretty it makes everything look shiny and new until it starts melting, gross on the roads and your car.”
