ST. LOUIS, Mo. (KTVI)- A dog left for dead by a dumpster is defying the odds and making a comeback thanks to the help of Stray Rescue of St. Louis.

Nitro is recovering from an unthinkable situation. He was found when a woman was taking her out her trash. He was not expected to survive the night at the veterinarians.

He is the second dog in almost a week found by Stray Rescue of St. Louis in almost the same exact circumstances. The other was Tasha, who appeared on Fox 2 Jan. 15.

Randy Grim joined us in the Fox 2 studio with an update on Nitro's recovery.

Like Tasha, a $1,000 reward is being offered by Stray Rescue of St. Louis to find the person responsible for leaving Nitro behind.
