ST. LOUIS COUNTY, MO (KTVI) – An F-18 fighter plane was forced to make an emergency landing at Lambert-St. Louis International Airport late Thursday afternoon due to a mechanical issue.

According to airport spokesman Jeff Lea, the plane landed on ‘runway 30R’ and will have to be towed back to Boeing. The runway was closed for a short period of time, but airport operations were not adversely affected.

The pilot was not injured.
