1 dead, 1 injured in overnight shootings

ST. LOUIS, MO (KTVI) - St. Louis police are investigating a pair of shootings overnight in St. Louis city. Authorities say one one of the incidents was fatal.

Police say minutes before midnight, one man was shot and killed near the intersection of Church Road and Christian Avenue in the Baden neighborhood. Officials say they found the victim outside just steps away from Calvary Cemetery. There is no word on suspects or a motive.

A man in his mid-20s was shot in the head around 1:30 a.m. near Semple Avenue and Wells.

Officials say the victim drove himself to a home on Terry Avenue for help. That's where police and paramedics found him.

Police say the he is in stable condition at the hospital.

That late night homicide means there have been more than a dozen criminal homicides so far this year.
