ST. LOUIS, MO (KTVI) - Police are investigating after several shots were fired at the scene of a three car accident just north of downtown St. Louis.

The crash happened around 1 a.m. on North Broadway Avenue and Palm. Police believe street racing may have been happening in the area right before the wreck and the shots fired.

One person had minor injuries when one of the vehicles crashed into the garage of a city-owned building. Two other cars ended up crashing into each other. As people tried to clear the area, someone pulled out a gun and started shooting.

A short time after the crash, our Nissan Rogue Runner captured eight gunshots being fired off in the area. Fox 2 News knew an ambulance wound up at the scene and paramedics may have checked out a couple of people.

While we can't confirm with police if street racing was involved in any of this, we do know that this area is notorious for street racing and that our Nissan Rogue Runner noticed what looked to be street racing happening here just moments before this entire incident occurred.

No one was wounded.
