Suspects shoot at officer’s unmarked car during St. Louis County chase

ST. LOUIS, MO (KTVI) – An unmarked police car was hit by several bullets after a short chase Thursday afternoon. St. Louis County police say the suspects are now in custody.

Police say they were tracking a suspect wanted for 1st degree assault. They found him in a vehicle with two other men near West Florissant and Partridge. When officers followed in an unmarked vehicle the suspect’s car made an immediate u-turn. Police say the suspects fired several shots at their car.

Detectives say that they did not return fire. They chased the suspect’s vehicle but they were able to elude police.

Police found the suspect’s vehicle about an hour later in south St. Louis City. Three suspects were taken into custody. The suspect’s ages are 22, 22, and 26.

No officers were injured in the shooting and chase. Their unmarked vehicle was hit by several bullets.
