TOWN AND COUNTRY, MO (KTVI) – It was a messy evening commute Wednesday as snow fell across the metro area.  The Missouri Department of Transportation says many drivers had an extra 40 minutes added to their commute home. Even though many left work as early as 2 pm to beat the traffic, blowing snow and icy patches made driving treacherous, causing both IDOT and MoDOT to close roads for accidents.

MoDOT has over 200 trucks out working overnight to salt and clear roads for Thursday mornings commute.  They’re advising motorist to leave early, and use extreme caution driving on ramps and overpasses.
