BETHALTO, IL (KTVI) - On the Illinois side of the river, IDOT had about 140 trucks out on the roads, trying to keep up with the storm that brought blowing snow and sleet.

The east side's battle with the Valentine's Day snow created a small traffic jams in IDOT yards across the region as trucks loaded up on salt early Sunday readying for what was certain to be a long day.  And as the snow began falling, highways quickly filled up with the slush and sludge they'd be battling.

But by noon, most of the major roads were clear and residents said they were getting around just fine.
