Major Case Squad activated for human remains found by children

MACOUPIN COUNTY, IL (KTVI) – The Major Case of Greater St. Louis has been called in by the Macoupin County Sheriff’s Office to investigate skeletal remains and human body parts found in a creek.  The discovery was made by children playing a creek in Plainview, Illinois, in the 7200 block of Illinois State Route 159 Monday afternoon around 3:30 pm.

14 detectives have been assigned to the investigation.

So far the only information released, is that the person was the victim of a homicide.
