WATERLOO, IL (KTVI) – Police say a Nebraska man tried to ram several police cars after a traffic stop Saturday night. Michael Davis, 28, is now facing charges after police were initially called to the area for road rage.

The Monroe County Sheriff’s department says that Davis was identified during a traffic stop near the intersection of Bluff Road and HH Road on February 13th at around midnight. After the stop was over he reportedly tried to ram sheriff’s deputies patrol cars several times.

Davis was eventually taken into custody. He now faces charges of aggravated fleeing and unlawful possession of stolen registration. Felony charges will be added on Tuesday.

Police say Davis has a criminal history. He has been convicted of possession of stolen property, sexual assault of a child 3rd degree, three arrests for failure to register as a sex offender, and aggravated assault.
