Driver arrested after fleeing routine traffic stop near Arnold

ARNOLD, MO (KTVI) – An alleged drunk driver is behind bars after fleeing a routine traffic stop near Arnold, Missouri. The suspect was pulled over for driving without a front tire, headlights and nearly striking several cars in the area. .

After police began contact with the driver, a 46-year-old White female in the car accelerated, causing the door/ window to strike the officer. The driver allegedly fled the scene and failed to yield to emergency vehicles.

Police say he continued driving along Highway 141 until he ran off the roadway and struck a fence near Fiedler Lane.

The woman in the vehicle was caught and taken into custody.

The driver refused a breath test during his booking and was later released to a sober driver, pending application of felony warrants.
