Police ID victim in St. Louis Avenue murder

ST. LOUIS (KTVI) – A 33-year-old woman was killed overnight Monday in a north city neighborhood, the St. Louis Metropolitan Police Department said.

According to a police spokesperson, Danesha Barnes was found in the driver’s seat of a parked vehicle near the intersection of St. Louis and N. Prairie avenues just after 1 a.m. She had a gunshot wound to the neck and was pronounced dead at the scene.

Police said the investigation remains ongoing. A suspect has not been identified.
