LOS ANGELES (AP) _ The head of ABC entertainment is exiting amid low ratings, to be replaced by the first African-American to head a broadcast network.

ABC said Wednesday that ABC Entertainment Group President Paul Lee has decided to step down.

His successor is Channing Dungey, who had been ABC Entertainment Group’s executive vice president for drama development.

In that position, she helped develop ABC hits including “Scandal” and “How to Get Away with Murder.”
