MARYLAND HEIGHTS, MO (KTVI) - This is dashcam video from a Missouri State Highway Patrol Trooper Monday.

He was doing his job when he was sideswiped by a passing truck.

Highway patrol is not the only one to run into these incidents lately.

Two weeks ago an IDOT worker was struck while helping a motorist out of a snowy ditch.

In the past month the Maryland Heights police department has had two cars smashes into while working traffic stops.

"People aren’t paying attention they are texting they are talking on the phone and what we call over driving so what we suggest is the first thing they do when the see the lights is slow down and then plan their move to the left, " said Maryland Heights Lt. Joe Eagan.

Plows on the road also seem to be a target.

Tonight two IDOT plows were hit while working along their routes.
