ST. LOUIS (KTVI) - St. Louis may not be the ‘City of Lights,’ but there are four great places that were illuminated Thursday evening with the help of lighting designers and engineers.

"Light Up St. Louis" is designed to showcase the amazing architecture and history of the city. The four sites include Picnic Island at Forest Park, the Grand Avenue Metrolink shelter, the Pierre Laclede monument at city hall, and the Broadway Office Interiors building on Locust Street.

The IBEW and the National Electrical Contractors Association helped out to ensure everything went off without a hitch. In all, some 30 volunteers donated their talent and resources.

This is expect to become an annual or bi-annual event, highlighting different sites around the city.
