TROY, MO (KTVI) - They are still reeling in troy after a spectacular fire that destroyed a high school field house.

There is not much left of the Troy Buchanan High School field house and they expect to start removing what is left by the end of the week.

The fire happened Saturday night and because of the buildings large size and the amount of stuff kept in it, caused the fire to be very intense.

The school district stored all the school`s football equipment, locker rooms, a weight lifting classroom, a concession stand and public restrooms.

The fire appeared to have started in the ceiling.  But after sifting through what`s left of the 8,000 square foot building, the fire marshal says the official cause is undetermined because the damage is too severe to make a determination.

The district hopes to have the building rebuilt by football season.  Until then, any concessions will have to go back to the way they used to do it with folding tables and pop up tents.

The damage is estimated at one million dollars.

However, the building was insured.
