CHESTERFIELD, MO (KTVI) – A senior at Parkway Central High School has achieved a perfect score on the SAT college entrance test.
Sharanya Kumar was one of only two individuals in Missouri’s class of 2015 (2,379 students in all) to achieve a perfect score. Nearly 1.7 million high school seniors took the SAT. Just 504 of those students earned a perfect score of 2,400 – less than 0.2 percent.
Last fall, Kumar was named a National Merit Semifinalist. She’s played tennis all four years at Parkway Central and badminton outside school. She’s played viola since the fourth-grade and was named to the NAfME All-National Honor Orchestra the last two years.
Kumar wants to study engineering in college, although she’s undecided on the particular field. She said she may minor in music.
When asked where she’d like to go to school, Kumar said, “Somewhere warm.”
