Former youth counselor charged with rape of a child

ST. LOUIS, MO (KTVI) - A 20-year-old man is charged with the rape of a child. The St. Louis County Prosecuting Attorney’s Office has issued charges against William “Billy” Hogenmiller for the crime that occurred last week. He is being held on a $75,000 cash only bond.

Police say the child and Hogenmiller know each other. The probable cause statement says that he attempted to pull the legs of the victim apart on Thursday night or Friday morning. He was lying on top of the victim at the time. The Prosecuting Attorney’s Office says victim fought Hogenmiller. This was, "a substantial step toward the commission of the crime of Rape in the First Degree."

Hogenmiller lives with his parents in a neighborhood in north county between Overland and Maryland Heights. Hogenmiller`s mother and uncle as well as neighbors declined to comment on the case.

Hogenmiller has worked as a counselor for a youth serving organization and another that provides care to adults and children with disabilities. This case does not involve a victim from those organizations. St. Louis County Police want to know if there are more victims. They are asking anyone with information to call: 636-529-8210.
