WILDWOOD, MO (KTVI) - The internet is buzzing with a rumor that Justin Bieber may be buying a home in Wildwood, Missouri.
But is it true?
FOX 2's Patrick Clark went to Wildwood to find out.
Will Wildwood become home to a wild child singer and dancer?
Tim Woerther/Wildwood Mayor: “This perhaps could be a place where he would do some growing up? Well or he's maturing and he's deciding it looks better out here in Wildwood versus Los Angeles”.
Sure he could hide out at Hidden Valley, which is in Wildwood.
Or baby, I mean, maybe Bieber would be into Babler.
But an internet rumor quickly spread Wednesday that Justin Bieber was buying up a home in Wildwood, Missouri.
Tim Woerther/Wildwood Mayor: “We got word that Justin Bieber wanted to give it all up and move to Wildwood. But after checking it out from premiere fake news site that puts out pieces like that”.
Meaning, don't expect moving vans with Bieber's belongings anytime soon.
And don't believe in Nigerian princes sending you money through the internet.
While the Wildwood rumor was false, it is an opportunity for Mayor Tim Woerther to plug his city in his last year in office.
Tim Woerther/Wildwood Mayor: “We're the third largest city in the state of Missouri in terms of square area, about 68 square miles. So quite large, about 17th in terms of population. We're about 36-thousand so it's not a small city”.
And what with the roundabout's one needs to stay on their toes.
You might remember the pop singer has had his problems with the law.
He famously threw eggs at a neighbor after a verbal squabble sent him scrambling to find a way of showing his displeasure.
Tim Woerther/Wildwood Mayor: “Thought about that after the fact like, 'Oh great an egg thrower coming to town.' But, hey it happens, everybody is youthful at one time and we all do silly things”.
Like believe in internet rumors.
