JENNINGS, MO (KTVI) - Impeachment hearings continued Saturday afternoon in a case to remove the Jennings mayor from office.

The hearing is taking place at the Jennings Municipal Court Building.

Mayor Yolanda Fountain-Henderson says the impeachment proceedings are the result of a political feud that the two council members are falsely accusing her of wrong doing.  The mayor says after she raised the issue that the two council members reportedly fraudulently obtained health insurance through the city of Jennings.

This afternoon the city clerk testified for about two hours that mayor allegedly appointed a temporary employee without the council's knowledge.

However, the mayor`s attorney Donnell Smith objected to several statements made by the city clerk and stated that the clerk made some speculations throughout her testimony.
