ST. LOUIS, MO (KTVI) - Republican Presidential front runner Donald Trump makes a campaign stop in St. Louis. His speech at the Peabody Opera House brought out thousands. The lines to get in and take one of the 3,600 spots available to hear the Donald wrapped around the building and started in the wee hours of the morning. The line was not just full of supporters, there were protesters mixed in as well.
This is not the story we thought we were coming to cover. By the end of Trump`s speech it became clear that the interruptions, we counted at least six, had eclipsed the speech itself.
Even Donald Trump said he thought it was a record number of disturbances at one of his rallies. The St. Louis Post-Dispatch counted at least ten protesters removed. Trump told the crowd he was warned if he came to St. Louis this would happen.
Before the speech a local immigration attorney made some brief remarks He and asked for a moment of silence for the five people killed this week in Missouri and Kansas by an illegal immigrant who had been deported but was able to sneak back in the country.
Between the interruptions Trump covered his usual topics including trade, China and the Iran deal. He also took some swipes at Hillary Clinton, saying she is weak, and that Bernie Sanders a communist.
