ST. LOUIS (KTVI) - If it takes a big man to admit when he`s wrong, and it takes an even bigger man to teach that man about the human body.

'Whether it`s skin muscle, organs or bone, I wanted it all to be visible for kids to be able to interact with it and see the body from a perspective that you don`t normally get to see if from,' says Shannon Woodcock/President & CEO Healthworks Kids` Museum St. Louis.

You might have seen the sign near the corner of Macklind and Berthold, near the St. Louis Science Center for the Healthworks Kids' Museum St. Louis.

'It`s an all-inclusive interactive museum for kids that are solely dedicated to health and wellness,' says Woodcock.  'So we want to teach kids how to take care of their smiles and their bodies.'

And nobody has a bigger body than this interactive dude.

The 55 foot long, 25 foot wide and eight foot tall man is being put together as part of the new 12,000 square foot museum.

And this is where the leg bone is connected to the rebar.

'He is an all-inclusive universally designed playground,' says Woodcock.  'So children and caregivers of all abilities can play on him, learn about the body and learn about their systems.'

What began as the Delta Dental Health Theatre on Laclede`s Landing is moving into the museum territory; and they`re bringing their oversized teeth and interactive learning displays into this facility.

The goal is to teach children the importance of healthy habits from an early age.

'They still need to put his joints together so they`ll be plastering in more concrete and the artists will do his painting to make it match,' says Woodcock.

Healthworks says naming rights for the exhibit are still available for sponsors willing to lend a hand financially.

The museum and the man will open early summer.
