Six people injured in car accident in north St. Louis

ST. LOUIS (KTVI) – Four children and two adults were involved an accident involving two vehicles at a north St. Louis intersection.

The accident took place around 5:50 p.m. at Minerva and Belt avenues. According to police, a vehicle was attempting to speed away from a traffic stop when it struck another car and then a bicyclist. It's not clear which car the children were in.

One of the adults was said to be in critical condition. The other patients were listed in stable condition.

The driver of the speeding car was taken into custody.
