St. Louis native Patrick McCaw declares for NBA Draft
ST. LOUIS, MO (KTVI)- Pro basketball fans will most likely not hear names of anyone from the University of Missouri or Saint Louis University this summer at the NBA draft, but a former CBC cadet hopes his name gets called. Patrick McCaw, who just completed his sophomore season at UNLV, announced Monday he would forego his remaining eligibility to enter the NBA draft. If he doesn’t hire an agent, he can remove his name for consideration until May 25.
McCaw was UNLV’s leading scorer this past season with 14 ppg. In the announcement he posted on Twitter, McCaw said “I feel that I have accomplished what I wanted in collegiate athletics and it is time to take the next step in my basketball career.”
He leaves a college program that was in transition. The school fired head coach Dave Rice during the season, and just hired Arkansas-Little Rock Head Coach Chris Beard.
McCaw left CBC after the 2012-2013 season. He completed his high school career at Montrose Christian Academy in Rockville, MD.
