CREVE COEUR, MO (KTVI)- A tradition which originated in China over two thousand years ago will be back at Creve Coeur Lake this summer. The Gateway Dragon Boat Festival will be held Saturday, June 25, 2016. Teams of paddlers race in a long, narrow canoe-style boats with decorative Chinese dragon heads and tails.
Proceeds go to benefit Operation Family Help, a Signature Healthcare Foundation initiative to assist families of patients with financial challenges by providing services such as therapy, equipment or transportation.
Registration is now open. The cost is $1,000 and includes the boat, paddles, and a steersperson/coach.
The festival will also feature great food, music, and activities for kids. The event is free for spectators.
