ST. LOUIS, MO. (KTVI)- Kids Who K.A.R.E. Camp is a week-long summer day camp for boys and girls ages 7-14. Through field trips and service projects, children are introduced to St. Louis-based non-profit organizations. Kids Who K.A.R.E. also collects or makes birthday supplies and donate them to organizations like It's Your Birthday, a St. Louis-based non-profit organization that provides children who reside in homeless and domestic violence centers with fun birthday memories.

This Saturday, April 16, Kids Who K.A.R.E. will be hosting a "Birthday Hat Party", an event for kids with the goal of decorating 400 birthday hat's to be used at "It's Your Birthday"-hosted parties. Amy Barnett, the executive director for Kids Who K.A.R.E. and her daughter Amy stopped by the studio to talk about this charitable event and how it will help less-fortunate children around the city.

Campers have fun with friends while earning up to 30 service hours, which are valuable for church projects, school applications and other organizations. Crafts used at the Birthday Hat Party will be supplied by Kids Who K.A.R.E., but donations are always welcome.

K.A.R.E. Camp was launched one year ago on Global Youth Service Day. Many organizations such as It`s Your Birthday, and Angels` Arms, The APA, Disabled Athlete Sports Association, Equine-Assisted Therapy, The Humane Society, Operation Food Search and many more are partners of Kids Who K.A.R.E. Camp. Summer camp registration is now open.
