ST. LOUIS, MO. (KTVI)- Artistic fusion of popular culture and fantasy is the foundation for many artists. A new one-day art and cocktail event in south St. Louis seeks to bring that fusion and add a whimsical element to art exhibits April 23.

Poptropolis will host 73 artists featuring over 200 pieces of art, mobile entertainment and fantasy decoration with enchanting surprises. The event is open to the public with tickets costing $10 in advance, $15 at the door.

Nelson Perez of Vodka Bacon Studios, who is putting on the event, brought several artists to the Fox 2 studio this morning, and even a few living art exhibits.

Poptropolis will showcase urban, whimsical and contemporary interpretations from local St. Louis artists that will carry aspects of mass culture, comic books, cartoons, toys, idols, humor, fairytales, real-life, current affairs, satirical and underground gleefulness from the streets of the city to suburban life on earth.

The event will be at the Koken Art Factory and will run from 6 p.m. to midnight in St. Louis. Tickets for the event can be found at Ticketleap.
