St. Louis Slam women’s football team ready to take on the Chicago Force

ST. LOUIS, MO. (KTVI)- St. Louis’s first women’s full contact football team, the St. Louis SLAM, will be playing their first game in the state of Illinois tomorrow, April 23. The game will be played at Lindenwood University in Belleville against the Chicago Force.

Members of the St. Louis SLAM stopped by the Fox 2 back lot to show Kevin Steincross how they prepare for each game. The team also ran a few plays and gave Kevin the chance to be part of the team.

The game will be part of the team's military and first responder appreciation night. Members of the military and first responders can purchase discounted tickets for $5; all other tickets cost $13.

The mission statement of the SLAM is to empower the development and well being of youth and families within our community, with a particular focus on Service, Fitness, Health & Education. We support this mission by providing the practical tools necessary to enrich the lives of our community and develop and implement resourceful and valuable programs that contribute directly to our Core Purpose.
