Missouri man gets 7 years for fatal St. Charles hit-and-run wreck
ST. CHARLES, Mo. (AP) – An eastern Missouri man has been sentenced to seven years in prison for a hit-and-run accident that killed a motorcyclist.
The St. Louis Post-Dispatch reports that 26-year-old Derrell Edward Dean Hall of Lincoln County was sentenced to an additional six months for driving while intoxicated in another fatal crash.
Hall pleaded guilty last week to involuntary manslaughter, assault and leaving the scene for the accident that killed the motorcyclist, 44-year-old Jason Julian of St. Charles. Police say Hall was speeding and drove through a stop sign.
The earlier wreck happened in 2014 in O’Fallon, killing 22-year-old Kimberly Presnell, who was a passenger in Hall’s vehicle. Hall and Presnell had a child.
The six-month term on the DWI charge will run concurrent to the seven-year term.
